Pay or Strip Mouse Traps

Filed under: Dare Dieter — Justin @ 3:03 pm

This Dare Dieter was from a fan submission.  They set up 100 mousetraps in the hallway for Dieter to walk through blindfold. 50 of the traps were labeled ”strip” and the other 50 were labeled ”pay”. Jenna the virgin intern then had to strip for every “strip” trap he steps on and Dieter had to pay Jenna $10 for every “pay” trap. He ended up hitting 15 of the pay traps and Jenna ended up with 3 strips left and only 4 pieces of clothing left.

Jenna reneged on the deal and Dieter was allowed to keep his money. Overall it was not really a very exciting Dare Dieter. I like the dares where all the action takes place in one moment (Bug Zapper dare). It was funny when they were throwing traps at each other afterwards though.

DUI Checkpoints and Relationship Finances

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 1:31 pm

The big discussion this morning was over DUI checkpoints.  Rover contended that they are unconstitutional, while Duji said that they were good because they save lives.  I tend to agree with Rover, they are a hassle and are a violation of your civil rights.  I thought his analogy of the cops searching your house because of crime in your neighborhood was a good illustration of where good intentions with bad execution can lead.  Several callers chimed in with the inconvenience and long waiting times (one caller said 48 minutes) that these can cause.

Rover then called in one of their engineers. He had just purchased a new Video Ipod on Monday and had already been trying to sell it to people on the show. He said that his old Ipod had broken recently and he went out and bought this one to replace it. When his wife found out about it, she told him they didn’t have the money for it (he is the sole income, she is a student) and that he needed to sell it.

This turned into a debate over allowing your significant other to control the finances. Rover and Dieter chastised him for allowing her to control the money, when it is his money. Duji of course took his wife’s side, saying that they should have discussed the purchase beforehand. Several callers chimed in saying that he should be more of a man, with one of them even admitting his wife was in control of their finances.
