Gracie - Hughes fight, Pay-per-view and Climbing Mt. Everest
UFC 60 (yes 60) was held over the weekend.  The main event was Matt Hughes vs. Royce
Gracie.  The fight was heavily promoted and much anticipated.  Rover and Dieter did not order the fight but Dieter had read about it.  Hughes ended up defeating Gracie 4:39 into
the first round.  The fight was stopped by referee John McCarthy.  Apparently, Gracie, a Brazialian jiu-jitsu black belt was unable to keep Hughes, a collegiate wrestling champion, at bay.  Hughes landed 17 consecutive punches to Gracie’s head before the fight was stopped.
Rover, who is a huge boxing fan, got on a rant about how expensive pay-per-view events have become. Â He said many of the boxing matches he would like to order cost $54.95. Â I just looked up the Gracie-Hughes fight and it is $39.95 just for the replay! Â Pay-per-view has come to the point where you have to get a group of 5-10 guys together just to make is somewhat affordable.

Following up on a story covered last week about the climber with no legs passing by another stranded climber, there was a story of a climber being rescued after falling into a chasm. Â Rover and Dieter went on to debate whether or not you would rescue someone if you were that close to the summit. Â Rover researched the trip and said it would cost $50,000 to $75,000 to climb Everest, plus all the time you put into training and preparation. Â Rover said he would still stop and rescue someone, although it would probably eliminate your chance of making it to the summit. Â Dieter said he would pass them by to achieve the goal of reaching the summit. Â Here is a picture of the climber with no legs:
Rover then went on to say he thought he could climb Mt. Everest. Duji and Dieter made fun of him and told him to try to climb 10 flights of steps. Rover had looked into the pricing and other factors for climbing it, although it is hard to take him seriously considering his self proclaimed laziness and not having worked out since high school.
