Courtney, the girl Johnathon met on the website, came onto the show today. She took a red-eye bus from Detroit to Chicago to stay with Johnathon this weekend. As soon as they saw each other they began to make out. Rover, Duji and Dieter were all pretty blown away by the embrace. Courtney is married, as Johnathon had mentioned. She has been seperated from her husband for quite a while though and said they are only together for tax and insurance purposes.

Rover designed a game for Courtney and Johnathon to play because they said they think they are soul mates. Rover had a list of questions that they had to answer and also answer what the other person would say. They could win $10 for each correct answer but lose $10 for each incorrect one. Some of the questions included where what age they lost their virginity, 13 for Johnathon and 15 for Courtney. They also told how many sexual partners they have had, which was around 100 for Courtney. They started out well but ended up $20 in the hole.

Andre Dawson, “The Hawk”, was on the show this morning. Being a huge Cubs fan, especially around the mid to late 80’s, I am a huge Andre Dawson fan. Dawson started out playing for the Expos but the artificial surface they play on took a toll on his knees. He then came to the Cubs where he was the 1987 NL MVP. Rover asked Andre about how much money he made. He said he didn’t really make a whole lot until after the Cubs when he played for the Red Sox, he was making $4 million a year there. Andre has yet to make it into the Baseball Hall of Fame. His former teammate and my favorite player of all time, Ryne Sandberg, used his acceptance speech as a camapaign to get Dawson in. Sandberg called Dawson, “best player I ever played with.”

This is probably the most dangerous dare I have heard of to date besides maybe the bug zapper. Last year, Dieter and Dumb (the former phone screener) challenged each other to see who could take more shots from a nail gun. The loser agreed to shoot the nail gun through the webbing between their thumb and index finger. Dumb quit after one nail but refused to take the nail through the webbing. Dieter held him down and shot it through it anyway. Lots of problems came up after this, with Dumb claiming he had been assaulted and Dieter almost getting fired.

A listener wrote in and wanted Dieter to drill through the webbing of his hand because of what he did to Dumb. They went back and forth discussing whether to complete the dare or not. Rover actually ended up calling off the dare but during a commercial break Dieter convinced everyone to let him try. Dieter did a couple short spins of the drill, screaming both times. He then ended up drilling almost all the way through and broke the drill bit in the process. He tried to get the rest of the way through but ended up drilling all over his hand. Rover told him to stop but Dieter wanted to complete the dare. He changed the drill bit out and was testing it out but the show was over and he didn’t do any more drilling. Dieter was angry, threw his headphones down and walked out of the studio.

DJ Jazzy Jim accused Johnathon of having phone sex with girls he is meeting on the show website. Johnathon denied the accusations at first but then began to tell the story. He did meet a listener, though she emailed him first. They began to chat on the site and eventually he got her phone number. They started talking on the phone and did have phone sex. Now she is coming from Detroit to Chicago for the weekend to stay with Johnathon. He also thinks she is married and has a kid. Dieter thought it was cool, Rover and Duji were not pleased. Rover is going to get a clause written up for Johnathon to sign that says he is not reponsible for anything that Johnathon does from the site. I think that is probably a good idea.

Phil Peplinski, the owner of comegetyousome.com was on the show this morning. His website has been receiving a lot of attention lately. It is a collection of over 500 fight videos. Phil says he uses the videos to train his martial arts students. Phil says his students and anyone else can learn a lot from these videos and can hopefully learn to defend themselves if they find themselves in a similar situation. He claims the problem is that most people and most of his students have never been in a street fight and don’t know how to react. Rover and Dieter both love the site. They are both fight video junkies and immediately knew what video Phil was talking about when he discussed the worst video he had seen. Duji does not like the site and gave Phil a hard time. She said he is encouraging fighting and violence. She may have a point for once.

Today was Joe Bartosh’s last day. Bartosh or Bartoth as Rover calls him, was the producer for the show. He was often the butt of child molester jokes by Rover and Dieter often made jokes about Joe’s wife. Dieter and Jim both got Joe with mousetraps after one of the Dare Dieter segments used them. Dieter placed one between some folders and Joe’s finger is still black from that one. It will be sad to see Joe go because he was the butt of so many jokes. Rover said Patch (the one eyed intern) can hopefully fill the role.

Duji told the story of a friend she went to the Gay Pride parade with. The friend has been seeing a guy for a couple months and wanted to go see him. Duji suggested they go to his house, but she said he did not like unexpected visitors and the friend, in fact, had never even been to his house. This brought Rover to suggest that the guy is probably married and living a secret life. Many callers said they had been involved in a similar situation. Several women had been the victim of this, with one husband telling his wife he was working 2nd shift when in fact he was working 1st shift.

Dieter thought of a business idea to buy a condo and then use it as a kind of time share for men with second lives. He said he would walk by outside and talk to the guy about his second life, change decorations and make sure privacy was key. A caller then burst his bubble by telling him there was already a similar service in place.

Dieter told a story this morning about his uncle (the one who takes 13-14 year olds hunting without their parent’s permission) taking his son to a Chinese Massage Parlor for his 15th birthday! Obviously not very responsible parenting and Dieter’s aunt is now seeking a divorce because of this incident. Dieter thinks his uncle is the coolest and that there is nothing wrong with this type of behavior. Duji and Rover did not agree. It seems Dieter has a weekly story of his family’s escapades in bad parenting or Dieter giving bad advice to family members.

Adrian Curry and Christopher Knight were both on the show this morning. Adrian Curry had been on the show by herself a month or so ago. Adrian had a hangover this morning, she said she had 2 cocktails last night. Rover said she is a cheap date. They mostly talked about the second season of My Fair Brady. They are going to get married this season and Chris apparently has been made to look like he is losing it. Adrian said Chris has been under a lot of stress. Joe Bartosh is a huge fan of the show and filled Rover in on it before the interview. Joe told Rover that Adrian’s family was white trash and Rover relayed this information to Adrian. I don’t think she really appreciated it. You can see My Fair Brady Sunday nights on VH1.

Vernon Robinson was also on the show this morning. He is currently running for Congress in North Carolina and definitely tells things how he sees them. He is a conservative African American politician and in his campaign advertisement he criticizes Rev. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, which was great to hear. He also talks about his disdain for illegal aliens and other controversial topics that most politicians would sidestep. He advocates ‘keeping your pants up’ for birth control. As Rover said at the end of the interview, politicians who tell the truth don’t usually have very long political careers.
