Broadcast Indecency Act, Logan Young III and Road Rage

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 12:40 pm

A bill is going to the House of Representatives tomorrow that could mean big increases in fines for radio broadcasters. The bill, which was already passed by the Senate, would raise fines from their current level of $32,000 per indecent show to $325,000 per indecent occurrence, meaning that multiple fines could be assessed per show.

This bill is obviously going to have an effect on all shows, including Rover’s Morning Glory. Rover told a funny story about working in Denver and getting into a feud with a couple radio jocks there. He went down to their studio while they were both on air to call them out. He took some human feces in tupperware containers that his listeners had dropped off. He didn’t plan things out very well because the radio jocks just turned off their microphones and started dropping f-bombs. Rover was forced to retreat but not before leaving some “presents” for them.

Logan Young II (Deceased)

Logan Young III called back into the show again today. He sounded like he had drank about a 30 pack in an hour. Rover tried to sneak in some questions about his father and related matters but Logan was not answering. Duji was trying to get him to pay $9,000 for the World’s Largest Beer Bong. Rover and Dieter tried to talk him into helping them judge for the Miss Morning Glory calendar. He said that he would do it but hung up before Duji could talk to him. Duji dropped an f-bomb but they either dumped it or it was only loud enough for Rover to hear, because you couldn’t hear it on air.

There was a new study published on Road Rage. The study claims that road rage is a disease and not just an emotional problem. It claims that I.E.D. (can we stop using this acronym already), or intermittent explosive disorder is the cause. Dieter, a self-proclaimed Road-Rager, told a story of cutting off a man riding a tandem bike with his son. The father then hit Dieter’s car with his fist as they rode past. Dieter followed them to CVS and threatened to beat up both the father and son. I tend to agree with Rover that this whole theory is B.S., I think people are just venting other emotional problems through road rage. Dieter’s story was pretty funny though.

Mark Grote made his monthly appearance on the show today. I thought he was coming in on Fridays, maybe T.J. was sick?
