Blue collar boxing, Miss Morning Glory Calendar and Tattoos

Fight Club
New York City has banned so called “blue collar” boxing circuits. These circuits are comprised of businessmen who fight in matches on weekends against each other. NYC has cited these clubs as dangerous and ordered their activities to be discontinued. Many callers suggested this is a move by the city to sanction these fights so they can earn money from them. Several people who participate in these clubs called in and told stories of the exercise and stress relief they receive from them. Many people incorrectly associate these clubs with the movie “Fight Club”, this assumption is incorrect. These matches have referees and participant safety is taken very seriously.

The crew discussed the Miss Morning Glory calendar a bit this morning. They are going to be traveling to several of the show’s listening cities to hunt for calendar girls. Last year’s calendar was great and I’m sure this year will be even better with the expansion of the show which will in turn give a lot more women the chance to be in the calendar. I wonder if Logan Young III is still going to be a judge?

There was a long discussion over tattoos this morning after Duji gave some statistical facts regarding their widespread popularity. Duji admitted to getting a tattoo on air when she was an intern on another radio show. I think Rover and Dieter were pretty surprised that Duji would do anything like that. Rover discussed “tramp stamps”, which Duji said she thinks are really sexy. Personally, I think they are gross and they definitely has a negative connotation these days. A tramp stamp is a tattoo on a woman’s lower back.
