Show Moving Back to Cleveland!!, Search Party Recap and Jim Shows off his Karate skills

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 2:56 pm

Rover’s Morning Glory is moving back to Cleveland! Rover made the official announcement this morning, although he said he has known for a while. Chicago just has not been a good fit for the show and the ratings have suffered in that market as well. The show will be moving back to Cleveland although they are going to be broadcasting from Chicago (though no longer on the air there). I’m sure many people in Cleveland are celebrating this move.

The Detroit search party sounded like it got pretty wild. Duji’s whole family was pretty much there and Duji actually had to ask DJ Jazzy Jim if he had sex with her sister. I guess her sister showed up wearing Jazzy Jim’s T-shirt the next morning or something. Duji had said that she had some people lined up that wanted to sleep with Dieter, though there were no stories about it, so it must not have happened. Jonathon and Cortney were together there and after making out with another woman, Jonathon got a threesome.

Rover and DJ Jazzy Jim has been going back and forth for months about Jim’s supposed Karate skills. For those of you that have been listening for a while, you will remember when Rover got a whiffle ball bat and Jim tried to disarm him. Rover said that Jim just threw him to the ground but its kind of hard to tell what really happened since they didn’t take any video. They finally got a sparring match set up and two guys from a local Dojo came over. Jim sparred with a blue belt (middle belt ranking) for two minutes while a second degree black belt observed. It sounded like Jim did pretty well on the air and the black belt commented that his kicks and punches were good. He said there was no way he was a black belt though, so Rover is victorious in this battle, which he needed after losing the Danica Patrick arguement to Dieter.

Dieter Pulls Truck and All Hell Breaks Loose

Filed under: Dare Dieter — Justin @ 5:03 pm

Manny from Detroit wrote in with this week’s dare. This Dare Dieter involved Dieter pulling a Ford F-550 truck with a harness, like they do in “World’s Strongest Man” competitions. To increase the difficulty, he was shot at with a paintball gun while attempting the stunt. Rover tricked him into bringing in one of his prized possessions, his high school football helmet. Dieter had 45 seconds to pull the truck across the parking lot or Jonathon would get to smash the helmet with a sledgehammer. Dieter was reluctant to accept the dare because of the helmet. He said he has worn it while doing the deed and also claimed that it was more valuable than Jonathon or Rover’s lives. He did finally accept though.

Rover, Dieter and Jonathon headed out to the parking lot. Dieter put on the harness and began to stretch. Jonathon warmed up with the paintball gun and Rover looked for cover. The countdown began and Dieter was having trouble getting the truck started. You could hear Jonathon firing away in the background. Dieter got the truck moving and managed to make it in a speedy 30 seconds even with Jonathon laying down heavy fire. This is where all hell began to break loose. Dieter grabbed the paintball gun from Jonathon after finishing (saying Jonathon was shooting him after he finished). He then shot Jonathon point blank in the balls. You could hear Jonathon yelling and Rover ran behind the truck as Dieter chased and shot Jonathon repeatedly. Dieter then went inside to clean off.

Jonathon was very angry and in pain. He took Dieter’s helmet and began to smash it with the sledgehammer even though Dieter had completed the dare. Rover said he pretty much flattened it like a pancake. He then threw the helmet into the middle of 12 mile road and almost got hit by a car in the process. Dieter then returned outside and shot Jonathon a few more times but somehow did not notice the helmet.

Everyone returned to the studio. Rover told Dieter what Jonathon had done to the helmet. Dieter did not believe him at first, until Jonathon walked in with the smashed helmet and gave it to Jonathon. Dieter went into a fit of rage. He threw the helmet and a chair across the studio at Jonathon. Jonathon ran and hid behind Rover, Dieter went over to him, bodyslammed him to the ground and began punching him until he was restrained. Dieter was taken out of the studio and Rover said he pretty much trashed all the equipment inside there. Dieter was yelling that he was going to kill Jonathon. This should make for a lot of interesting stories on Monday, especially with the calendar party tonight.

From Detroit: Mary Jo Sanders, Mike Freeman and Lisa Guerrero

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 2:51 pm

Mary Jo Sanders, WIBA Junior Welterweight title holder, was on Rover’s Morning Glory this morning. Mary Jo is from Detroit and is going to be at the Clutch Cargo’s tonight for the Miss Morning Glory calendar search party as a guest judge. Rover and Dieter both think Mary Jo is super attractive. Rover asked if she could beat him up, surprisingly she said no.

Bloody Sundays: Inside the Rough-and-Tumble World of the NFLMike Freeman, of ESPN, was on the show this morning. Mike writes a column for ESPN and has also written several sports related books. Rover asked Mike several questions about the Harold Reynolds situation. Harold is a black commentator for the “Baseball Tonight” segment on ESPN. He was fired for supposed sexual harassment and/or sexual involvement with several interns. Mike said Harold is a really great stand-up guy but that he had heard several rumors about him and various interns.

Lisa Guerrero, a sports broadcaster, was also on the show this morning. Lisa was a cheerleader for the Rams back in the 1980’s when they were based in Los Angeles. She was also on the TV show “Sunset Beach”. In 2003, Lisa began sideline reporting on Monday Night Football. Her performance was heavily criticized and she was eventually replaced by Michele Tafoya. Lisa appeared in the January 2006 issue of Playboy magazine as the cover girl. She is currently reporting on “The World Series of Pop Culture”.

One Eyed Bri’s Demo Tape, School Dress Codes and Rowdy Roddy Piper

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 4:24 pm

Brian Jasik, a.k.a. One Eyed Bri, has been asking Rover to listen and critique one of his demo tapes since he began interning on the show. Rover finally agreed today and they played his demo tape. First off, the tape was 27 minutes long, so Rover had Huggie cut out a couple bits from it, which Huggie of course screwed up. There were 3 bits, all of which were interviews. The only one that really caught Rover’s attention (and not for good reasons) was an interview with a girl about a haunted house. One Eyed Bri’s interview style consists mostly of saying uh-huh and repeating what the interviewee said back to them. It had everyone laughing like crazy and referring to Bri as SlingBlade. Callers began to complain about the tape and DJ Jazzy Jim finally physically removed One Eyed Bri from the studio.

A public school in Pontiac, MI has passed a new dress code policy. Students must now wear collared shirts (no t-shirts), wear pants above the waist and have their shirts tucked into their pants. This is a public school and many students have expressed outrage including one well spoken individual who said, “That’s whacked.” The school is changing the dress code in an effort to reduce distractions and also stop gang related activities. Rover and a former gang member who called in both thought that this is a bad move on the school’s part and that this encourages more of a gang mentality where everyone dresses uniformly and is military like. Duji thinks the dress code is a good idea and that student’s are too distracted by low cut tops and belly shirts. Story

In the Pit with Piper: Roddy Gets Rowdy
Rowdy Roddy Piper or RRP as Dieter refers to him, was on the show this morning. RRP said he started wrestling at age 14! He lost his first match in ten seconds. He told some crazy stories, including a time when he was stabbed by a fan. Piper is currently on a word of mouth tour promoting his autobiography, “In the Pit with Piper: Roddy gets Rowdy”
