From Cleveland: Going to college, Dieter’s Home Furnishings and MC Streeter (Dumb) raps

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 3:40 pm

The show made its first stop on the Miss Morning Glory calendar search party today in Cleveland, OH. They will be at Tequila Ranch on West 6th Street in Cleveland tonight from 8 to 10 pm. Doors open at 6pm.

Duji told a story about her nephew this morning. He just finished his freshman year in college working towards a business degree. He has now decided to drop out of college to start a business which his dad is buying for him. Duji, as always, is sticking her nose in someone else’s business (at least it is family this time) and saying he needs to finish school. Rover has always stated that college isn’t for everyone (he never went). Duji and Dieter argued the merits of college against Rover. Duji doesn’t think a 19 year old is capable of running a business or telling employees (he has 4-5) what to do.

Rover brought up the weird furnishings that Dieter has in his apartment. He uses exercise equipment as furniture (rowing machine as a chair) and he also uses weight plates as coasters and to eat off of. He puts weight plates in the microwave, which is probably a bad idea in and of itself. He then said he will crack an egg directly onto one of those hot plates and let it cook. Not only is this weird (he said he serves eggs on the weights to girls that spend the night), it is also probably a bad idea to put the metal plates into the microwave.

Dumb
Dumb, A.K.A. MC Streeter, the old phone screener was reunited with the show today. They said he has put on a lot of weight, which is crazy because he was already very heavy before. He tried to tell them he has put on 20 pounds but everyone on the show agreed it was closer to 50 pounds. He put out a rap album not long after the show left Cleveland and told Rover he had 10,000 copies made. To date, he has sold 206 copies. Rover let him rap on air again today. His rap was to 50 Cent’s “In Da Club” but involved lyrics about eating and about Rover kicking him off the show. He was clearly winded after about 30 seconds. Everyone on the show told him he had gotten worse since the last time he rapped on air, even though he said he has been practicing really hard. He was not pleased.

Dieter Lights Himself on Fire

Filed under: Dare Dieter — Justin @ 3:00 pm

The show was broadcast live from Cleveland today. I had a feeling there might be a special Dare Dieter scheduled for their return. I was right. A Cleveland listener wrote in to say they had seen a guy light himself on fire and jump off Chagrin falls. He said it was the coolest thing he had ever seen and wanted Dieter to light himself on fire and jump into water. Dieter seemed a bit hesitant but after meeting the stunt man he would be working with (who has the Guinness World Record for longest burn without oxygen) he accepted the dare.

Rover and Dieter then drove to a “secure” location, although there were already people there when they got there. Duji was left alone in the studio. Rover broadcast over his cell phone as Dieter was prepared for ignition. They whole process took about half an hour. They put his suit on, which was three to four layers, as well as a mixture of fireproof gel. After Ted (the stuntman) asked Dieter one more time if he was sure he wanted to go through with the dare, they began to put the fuel on him. Rover moved back at this point but started to get nervous because they were putting so much fuel on him. He was afraid Dieter was going to explode. With about 3 minutes left in the show, they lit Dieter on fire. He began to walk towards Rover and the crowd and then jumped into the water. The dive team that was set up got him out of the water and on to a boat. Dieter gave Rover a thumbs up before being taken away. I can’t wait to see the video.
