Online Gambling Ban, Slavery Reparations, Lewis Black, Brian Posehn and Special Delivery Attempt #2

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 2:53 pm

A bill to prohibit online gambling on sites like partypoker.com in the U.S. and prevent people from funding their online gambling accounts is scheduled to be voted on tomorrow by the house of representatives. The bill would stop credit card companies and payment processors such as firepay from funding offshore gambling sites.

Reparations for slavery were discussed this morning. They sent Johnathon out to piss people off after his weak performance at the Taste of Chicago. He brought a “reparations jar” filled with dollar bills and Newport cigarettes, topped off with cotton balls. He tried to convince people he was giving people reparations because his great-grandparents had owned slaves. The first guy told Johnathon, “You’re doing a good thing” when Johnathon explained what he was doing. I don’t think he was intelligent enough to realize he was being insulted. The second guy was not as impressed but still get not get that upset. The third guy (a homeless guy) sounded extemely drunk. Johnathon told him, “Slavery was slavery, now it’s just called the NBA”. The homeless guy then sang a “slavery” song, which was hilarious and included the lyrics, “everybody wanna be white”. The last guy Johnathon spoke to (who Johnathon discribed as intellegent looking) was not amused. He dropped the F-bomb about 30 times and finally pushed Johnathon away. DJ Jazzy Jim, who was again Johnathon’s protection, said he thought he was going to have to intervene.

Nothing\'s Sacred
Lewis Black, from the daily show, was on air this morning. He discussed several topics which make him angry (which Rover said he always seems to be), these included airport security, gay marriage and flag burning. He said all of these are receiving too much attention while other much more important issues are being neglected. Rover then quoted a fact that there is one complaint per year about flag burning. Lewis has a new book, “Nothing’s Sacred”, which is on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Live in: Nerd Rage
Brian Posehn, of Just Shoot Me! fame, was also on the show this morning. Brian has been on several sitcoms and also been in numerous movies. He is not a very attactive guy…at all, so the first question Rover asked was how he gets laid. He said that he is actually married (for 2 years) to an ex-cheerleader. Not sure if he means a pro cheerleader or a high school cheerleader but he must have done something right. Brian said he is pretty good friends still with David Spade and said he has a large package, which surprised everyone on the show. Brian has a new CD out, “Live in: Nerd Rage”.

DJ Jazzy Jim gave his botched special delivery from a couple weeks ago another shot today. He went down to the studio of Mancow Muller, a shock jock from Chicago, who Rover has run out of town (today is his last day on air). Jim took down a bunch of job applications for him, including one for Rover’s company. Mancow’s studio faces the hallway, so Jim went up to the glass after dropping off most of the applications at the front desk. He began to bang on the glass and yell at Mancow while holding up an application for Rover’s company. Jim said Mancow got very upset and threw his coffee but did not come out for a confrontation. The show ended but I’m sure Jim probably ended up getting arrested like usual.
