Weird Al Yankovic, Pat Summerall, Joe Rogan and Jonathon vs. Jim Fight Update

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 3:08 pm

Straight Outta LynwoodWeird Al Yankovic was on the show this morning. He has a new CD coming out tomorrow called “Straight Outta Lynwood”. Weird Al was bouncing off the walls when the interview started. Rover told him the story about his “I’m Fat” Michael Jackson parody, when the MTV VJ told everyone if they watched the video upside down, they could see Michael Jackson’s home phone number. Rover watched the video upside down. Weird Al talked about his new CD and some of his favorite songs. Then things went terribly wrong. Rover asked Weird Al about his parents dying, which it turns out, was less than two years ago. Weird Al immediately went from a high to a super low. He answered about three more questions in a monotone voice and then Rover ended the interview.

Summerall: On and Off the AirPat Summerall was also on the show this morning. Pat is a famous football broadcaster and has broadcast 26 SuperBowls. Pat is 76 years old and actually received a liver transplant two years ago. He

Joe Rogan was on the show for a long time this morning. He was actually trying to stay on past the end of the show. Joe discussed everything from the Maxim / Bud Light Comedy tour that he is currently on with Charlie Murphy and John Heffron to UFC to drug use to conspiracy theories. The Maxim Comedy Tour is hitting twenty different cities beginning on 9/28 with dates for Rover’s audience cities listed below. Joe spoke about UFC for a while and Rover told him about his new Fight Fest show. They got into a discussion about the Dieter vs. Butterbean fight. Joe said there was no way he would fight Butterbean and gave Dieter props for going the distance in the fight. Joe also talked about DMT, the drug, for a long time. He has done it a couple times and supposedly thought he was talking to aliens once. Rover is going to try to arrange for Joe to attend a taping of Fight Fest.

At the very end of the show, Rover announced that he had spoken to Corey (Fight Fest Producer) and that he had agreed to let Jonathon and DJ Jazzy Jim fight on the October 7th taping if they were willing. Jim agreed, then in a strange twist, Jonathon said he would only fight if their jobs were put on the line. The show will be off air tomorrow but I’m sure there will be some big discussion over this on Monday.

Jonathon vs. Jim fight, Lost Prophets and Jonathon’s Mom on Marriage

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 4:08 pm

Aaron, an ex clear channel employee, who took the spot Rover passed on in Florida emailed Rover. He asked for a chance to fight DJ Jazzy Jim at one of the Fight Fest tapings. He even offered to pay Jim $200 to fight with him. He said that Jim takes his great job for granted and he wanted to beat him up to get him to start taking it more seriously. He also said he entered the Toughman contest last year. Jim was pretty hesitant about the whole idea, saying that he wanted to kick Jonathon’s ass for making fun of his dead grandfather amongst other things. Jonathon said he thought he could kick Jim’s ass as well and the two will be fighting in an upcoming Fight Fest taping.

Fake Sound of ProgressThe Lost Prophets were on the show this morning. Rover was making fun of their tight pants. They played two songs on the air and sounded really great. Duji, who doesn’t do one night stands, said she would have one with the lead singer.

Rover finally played the audio from Jonathon’s mom after she found out about the engagement. Jonathon said there was probably over an hour of audio because she just kept calling. The parts of the audio you could understand were funny. His mother called him a son of a bitch at one point, Jonathon then pointed out that saying that would make her a bitch. Hilarious. She is also making him give back the car she gave to him as well as repay all the money she has loaned him. She said she is going to put him on a payment plan. She thinks that Rover talked Jonathon into getting engaged for ratings. The worst part is, Jonathon said Cortney was sitting there listening to all of this as his mom talks about no one coming to their wedding and how everyone hates Cortney.

RMG: Fight Fest, Hootie and the Blowfish, Joe Jurevicius

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 3:53 pm

I made an entire seperate post about Fight Fest but I thought I would mention it here as well since Corey Fischer, Fight Fest’s promotor, was on the show this morning. The taping of Rover’s new MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) show will be in Cleveland this Saturday at 7pm. It is being taped at the Masonic Temple near 36th and Euclid. The show starts at 7pm and you can get tickets through ticketmaster.com or at the door.

Hootie and the Blowfish were on the show this morning. They are currently touring with a show in Boston this weekend. Darius Rucker (Hootie) is pretty much the only person anyone recognizes and Rover was making fun of the band, saying that no male likes them after Duji mentioned that she is a fan.

Joe Jurevicius, wide receiver for the Cleveland Browns, was on the show this morning. Joe is currently injured but is out promoting the new Alltel cell phone program. He played high school football near Cleveland, so being back here is like being home for him. He has won a superbowl and Cleveland is his fourth NFL team. Joe said that he is now 31 years old, has a daughter and another one on the way. Dieter was again star-struck and asked Joe if he could get him some water when Joe entered the studio.

Jonathon Proposes to Cortney, DJ Jazzy Jim gone for a week with”Black Dave” takes his place

Filed under: The Show — Justin @ 3:54 pm

Jonathon proposed to Cortney this morning. Cortney accepted and they are now engaged. Rover was trying his hardest to get Jonathon to call his mother and tell her the news, which I’m sure would have and will make for some great conversations. Jonathon refused though, even after Rover offered to pay for his bachelor party because he said things went too well and he said he has already taken too many years off his mother’s life.

DJ Jazzy Jim was two hours late today. He then lied to Rover and Duji about what time he called the taxi cab. This is about the 3000th time that he has been caught in a lie. Jim was kicked off the show for next week (Dumb has a funeral to attend) and he is also losing a week worth of pay, which he was very upset about.

Black Dave will be taking Jim’s place. He wrote to Rover and initially wanted Jonathon’s job. Jonathon did a great job opening up for Ralphie May over the weekend and Jim was late yesterday, so Rover offered him Jim’s job instead. Black Dave works in a sheet metal factory, has a child and said his girlfriends have had several abortions. He said his first one was when he was fifteen and he lost his virginity at age ten. He will be coming in all next week while Jim is gone.
